Water-saving cleaning of lettuce with ultrasound

Usually it takes a long journey and many washing cycles until a lettuce is ready to eat. The collaborative project “MultiVegiClean” is developing a cleaning system, which minimizes the water use by means of ultrasound treatment and pulsed water jets and at the same time ensures a reduced germ load.
